rain. the first proper down pours of 2008. it's pants.
you would think an englishman could handle the rain. i can, but unfortunately the cafe can't. yep, the cafe is leaking again.
the landlord is doing his best but sourcing leaks is a never-ending battle - you plug one and the water moves to the next most vulnerable spot. the roofing guys could end up never finding the problem. the reality is that the building is old and needs a better guttering system.
our customers are being understandable but they are coming into our cafe to get away from the rain and not to have to listen to it drip into a bucket.
oh well. the rain has driven more traffic into the cafe so there is some good to come out of the situation.

Yay! Finally got around to reading the first few entries and am enjoying so far (being that I am a staff member and live these scenarios too!).
Too bad you couldn't make it to the Prairie Barista Championship :(. It was fun, fascinating, educational and exciting! We'll have to make sure we have a stronger cafe haven presence next year! I have lots of stories to tell.
