she did us proud.
last weekend, mel, who has been with us practically from the start, headed up to calgary to support her friend josh who entered into the barista competition. mel took the opportunity to train as a technical judge so that she could help grade the competitors.
being an employee meant that she was able to be a judge from cafe haven. this representation was so important since julie or i failed to make it. thank you mel! and thank you for the phil & sebastien coffee too! her certificate sits proudly on the counter where we make all our espresso drinks.
watching the whole thing has made me want to enter into the competition next year. i am also planning to head over to montreal in october to observe the finals.
